Hoeveel kledinghangers heb jij in je kast? En hoe vaak heb je een gebruikte kledinghanger teruggebracht naar de winkel? Juist, wij ook nooit hoor. Misschien wel eens naar de gemeentewerf? In de kleding- en confectiebranche gaan triljoenen kledinghangers in productie. In Nederland/Europa doen we hard ons best voor recycling en voorkomen dat dit op de afvalberg belandt. Maar hoe gaat dit eigenlijk in de rest van de wereld?
Kleding wordt gemaakt in een fabriek, verscheept naar groothandel, ingeladen voor winkels, uitgepakt in de winkel en aan kledinghangers gehangen. Honderden, duizenden hangers in een winkel. De consument neemt de kledinghanger mee naar huis om vervolgens na een periode weer een groot deel van de vele hangers die in de uitpuilende kast hangt, weg te gooien.
Miljarden kleerhangers belanden jaarlijks in de vuilnisbak en op de afvalberg. Soms zelfs nog voordat een kledingstuk in de winkel hangt, want er gaan er zat kapot. De behoefte blijft, we willen steeds maar meer hangers. Dus worden er weer nieuwe kledinghangers gemaakt om op hun beurt de reis naar de afvalberg te beginnen. Onlogisch, onhandig en nietbest-duurzaam. Dat moet toch anders!
Hoe zou jij de kledinghanger duurzamer kunnen maken?

ik wil hier wel iets over zeggen, want stoor me altijd aan die volle rekken in de winkels. Ik zou zelf helemaal geen hangers meer willen hebben. Niet in de winkels en niet in mijn kast.
Denk aan een soort SIRI of Google-wifi waar je je wensen tegen kunt zeggen. En die dan ook je geshopte kleding in een overzicht bijhouden.
En samenwerken met een eigen stylist. Die weet je maten en je smaak en op basis van je agenda wordt er dan voor een week een selectie naar je toe overgestraald? Geen kasten. Geen hangers. Niet meer shoppen, geen gesjouw met tassen, wél eens in de zoveel tijd naar de modeshow van de stylist om nieuwe ideetjes op te doen, lijkt me heeeeerlijk.
Ik heb een goed en heel briljant geniaal idee! Zou wel tof zijn wanneer dat ook echt ontwikkeld kan worden. Ik heb jullie al een email gestuurd en zal het hier nog laten weten.
Wat een goed idee zeg!
Ben echt geschrokken van de hoeveelheid junk van kledinghangers dat in het milieu belandt. En wat me vooral verbaasde is dat winkels dubbele winkelhangers gebruiken; tijdens transport (plastic) en in de winkel (die met winkel logo en chick). Dat wist ik niet.
En in de winkel is het vaak zo irritant. Rekken die te krap met die hangers in elkaar raken. Kleding valt ervanaf en moet je rapen.
Waarom moet er van een T-shirt ALLES in de winkel hangen? Dus 5x wit, 5x rood, 5x blauw, 5x groen en dan in alle maten van M-XXXXXL.
Wanneer er in de winkel 1 uitvoering aan te raken is, en te bekijken, dan snap ik wel hoe het in een andere maat is.
Dus van mij zou dan de maten bij de kassa te vinden mogen zijn. Of ergens opgevouwen in de originele verpakking. Zo krijg je het toch ook als je online iets koopt? Dan voel ik zelfs nog niet eens eerst.
Hierdoor kan de winkel veel minder VOL zijn met hangers toch?
